I voted Kobolds. I'm not surprised that it is a #1 at the moment, but what surprises me that it is so much more loved than goblins (0 votes so far)...
For me, kobold was higher than goblin (although I voted for neither). The kobold stats in the back of the MM needs serious work to be a PC, the goblin works.

Bugbear.

I would have voted Kobold, but I honestly want a good designer to tackle that. Mearls has said that giving players the Shifty power is really powerful, almost too powerful, so addressing that is a hairy mess.

Of course, the bugbear also needs to have the "Large weapon" addressed, since it's clearly not appropriate in the hands of PCs.

What makes me sad is that Lizardfolk aren't an option.

I was really torn between goblin and kobold. Flavor wise I think I'd like goblin a little more, but I voted for kobold because I want to see shifty addressed and they're pretty cool anyway.

I voted bugbear. I'm playing one in Living 4th Edition, and am both eager and apprehensive about what they'll do in removing Oversized. The minotaur got pretty screwed, IMO, and we in Living 4th Edition are trying to figure out what to do about that article right now.

Other than the doppleganger/changeling (which I believe will ultimately appear in the EPG), I don't have any particularly strong desire to see any of those races in a "Playing..." style articles. But then, I would have said the same thing about gnolls and minotaurs, and look how they turned out (awesome, IMO).

What I would really like to see is an expansion article on the bladelings from the MotP.

I think the oversized weapon schtick needs to be removed or fixed somehow. It's just too much. Maybe require a racial feat or something.

I disagree. I have a minotaur in my campaign and he is FAR from screwed. He does a ton of damage with his regular sized Executioner's Axe and has been an awesome barbarian.
