Forked from: Which of the following 3PP v.3.5 products should I buy?

Okay, time for round two of this discussion. I've noted several other products still available from my FLGSs. Only the Book of Fiends seems to be tough to find. Still, it seems to be too good to not include.

I've included an "Other" option in case anyone has any specific suggestions regarding d20/OGL products that they swear by. I've allowed for multiple choice this time but I hope voters won't pick more than three. Basically, pick your top 3, please and thank you.

I bought the following books from the previous thread: Book of Erotic Fantasy and Book of the Righteous. That thread also lead me to buy Tome of Horrors II and Creature Collection III.

Also, Ghostwind (a.k.a. Steve Creech) sent me the PDF version of Lore of the Gods for free, which was a great thing for him to do. The book is full of awesome, especially the chapter about the Mesopotamian Gods, the chapter about various Heroes from history, and the chapter detailing 15 new Prestige Classes. I admit that I haven't had the chance to go through the whole book yet as I have a few other books to read before getting deeper into it.

Still, I highly recommend it.

Voted for Book of Fiends (because it is simply amazing), Magic Item Compendium (because of its immediate and broad utility for 3.5 games - a DM's magic item dream) and for "Other", which in this case is the unbeatable Toolbox from AEG (a campaign in a book in the form of hundreds of lists - may require some assembly ;)...)

You should still grab a copy of Arms & Armor v3.5 if you can find it. :)

Yep.

Lore of the Gods is one of my favorite .pdfs if for no other reason than some of the artwork - awesome stuff.

Good luck finding the Book of Fiends - unless you are buying the pdf.

Ravenloft PH. I followed Ravenloft through 2E because of my love for I6, but I never ran it. 3E Ravenloft finally addressed the reasons why I wouldn't run it in 2E, and I ran a year long campaign starting at level 1 and wrapped up at level 12.

So if you like Ravenloft, and had issues with running campaigns in it during 2E, check out 3E. Plus the DMG for it is actually a good DMG.

Never read Book of Fiends, but the other two there are pretty much the cats meow for 3.5 gaming. Toolbox absolutely rules when it comes to improv, which I do a lot of. I'm sick of world-building, and I'm sick of published campaign settings. So I just kind of make it up as I go along, and this book helps immensely.

I got a lot out of the Magic Item Compendium. It's a good read, has a lot of interesting items, and changes the game in a good way.
