Which of these six is the best H.P. Lovecraft story?

Steve Jackson Games is going to be republishing the Choose Cthulhu solo gamebooks later this year, and I was trying to decide which book to get in the Kickstarter. (I'm only interested in getting one at this time.)

Which of these six would you choose? Use as few spoilers as you can manage, please.

The Dreams in the Witch House is the creepiest one. Dunwich Horror and Shadow Over Innsmouth are also very good.

I highly, highly recommend the BBC podcast called the Lovecraft Investigations. They update The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, the Whisperer in Darkness, and Shadows over Innsmouth and connect them under the premise of being a true crime podcast. It's well acted, it's really solid.

"The Shadow Over Innsmouth" was turned into a D&D adventure that I very much enjoyed. Liked the story too. I was the only one in my gaming group who had ever read it

"At The Mountains of Madness" is the one most like a conventional adventure story. "The Dunwich Horror" has the most memorable protagonist.

I'm a sucker for The Shadow Over Innsmouth as it's my favorite Lovecraft story of all time. I'm a little surprised there's no votes for The Call of Cthulhu yet. That's a good one too. Actually, all six of those are pretty good. My second favorite isn't an option here, Herbert West -- Reanimator.

Which is the best "story" and which is the best game book to get are very different questions.

Nameless City and Mountains of Madness are not Lovecraft's best "stories", as they have weaker narratives, but they are two of my favorites for the conceptual description of horror. I'd be temped to go with one of those.

Innsmouth seems like it would make the best game as there's a pretty gamable escape plot. Same with Dunwich Horror--find and disrupt Whateley's summoning.

As Deset Gled says, games and books are different media. Dreams in the Witch-House--are you going to kill Keziah Mason and Nyarlathotep? But I don't think anyone had mashed up non-Euclidean geometry and Salem witches before.
