That said... Levels 3-9 are my favorite. 1 and 2 I bypass... characters start at level 3 in my games. This lets them develop them a little more with skills and feats, and lets them (in the games that such is an option) play +ECL races if they choose without having to roll up a new character after a few sessions. But anything above 9 and I start to loose interest fast... And even 9 is pushing it.

Quote: I mean, most people would understand "creatures of pure chaos", but Slaad really aren't that, anyway. They're kind of hard to define. And why do they look like toads, anyway?
Look at the picture in the 3E MM. Does that look like a toad?
Not to slide off topic too much, but I gotta say the 3E Slaad look much more menacing and dangerous than the previous editions depictions. Nice job on the art work WoTC, now when are we gonna see some minis?!

Back to the subject....

20 D&D ruleslawyers for the action and 20 D&D DMs for the story.
Also: am I the only one who thinks a ruleslawyer is someone who makes ruleslaw, that being something like coleslaw? How much mayonnaise should you put in your ruleslaw?

Hong "and can you get food poisoning from it?" Ooi

Would depend on the ink and paper... Most paper isn't healthy, but not instantly poison... Speaking as someone who has ate paper for various reasons (What can I say... I was one of "those kids" in gradeschool... Ok, not really, but I did eat a couple pieces of paper here and there to win money (Hey, a quarter may not seem like much, but that was one more chance to get one of the cool toys out of the supermarket bubble machines! ;) ))

Diaglo, I'm curious, have you played a high level D&D game?

yes. after 10+ years the pcs reached retirement.

:D

some time later. i convinced the players to pull their characters out of retirement for a one-shot adventure. an adventure i had on the back burner for the campaign for years. ;)

S1 Tomb of Horrors.

they lasted 10 real time minutes.

we hit reset and tried again.

they made it to the
false tomb
before getting TPKed again. we all had fun with that one. even tho, it was completely fatal. they wanted their high lvl characters to die on an adventure.

i also played in a 2000ed campaign that went to level 18. not very fun. but i made the most of it. ;) but of course, that wasn't real D&D.

and i helped a friend in the Hotlanta area with a sendoff for one of his players. i played an evil blackguard flunkie leading the party into a den of evil to retrieve an artifact of power. it was an epic adventure. ~ 30th.

Wow, hong called me a troll, that's refreshing... dare say, regenerating.

Just wanted to point out that the new movie needs a lot to be acceptable... but it wouldn't take a lot to be better than the first one.

Oh, don't mind me. It's just that time of month again.

Heh. Maybe we could include Jar Jar Binks in it.

No problem, as long as he gets into the way of the TWF hasted sneak attacking rogue/fighter.
