Which Psionics rules do you use?

Hey, guys. I was wondering which rules everyone uses for psionics. I've got the WotC Psionics Handbook, but the rules are kind of gay, such as the Psions with their special pet rocks and all.

I've also got:

2e Complete Psionics Handbook
2e Players Option: Skills and Powers
The Will and the Way (on a disc somewhere!)
1e Players Handbook & DM's Guide (for what their worth)

The only thing from the WotC book that I so far like is the "Blue".

Are there any house rules for Psionics that are REALLY damn cool? Which resources are considered the most "essential" for these cool house rules that I don't know about?

Thanx!!!

HMMM...psionics in a relationship with other psionics? Is that what you mean by "gay"? I'm sure that must be it since I'm sure you wouldn't have used a small minded and offensive perjoritive such as the one that has become so "hip" in teenage culture these days.

I use 3.0 psionics minus pet rocks, which I agree are pretty silly and w/o psionic combat, opting for more feats instead.

Being snarky is gay!

My full houserules are linked to in the "WWW" button below this post. Some highlights:

1) All psionic disciplines are keyed to a specific Mental stat, thusly:
  • Int: Psychoportation, Metacreation
  • Wis: Psychokinesis, Clairsentience
  • Cha: Psychometabolism, Telepathy

2) Animal Affinity can boost any physical stat, grants a static +4 Enhancement bonus, and lasts 1 min/level.

3) Psionic combat will occur only if a player wants to memorize either the Mindscapes psi combat system or any other system that seems fair.

4) Psions gain Powers one level earlier, but their Power Points remain as in the PsiHB rules.

5) A new Core Class is available, the Mind Thief. It's like a Psion/Rogue just as a Psychic Warrior is like a Psion/Fighter.

You could just wait for the revised psionics book to come out in a few months.

Also, a general guideline for posting is to use the highest possible english. People on ENworld have good vocabularies, aren't afraid to use them, aren't afraid to explain why your entire arguement is flawed because you assumed the connotation of some word was used throughout the world, and above all... dislike words that are durogatory.

Welcome! :D

I use the 3.0 Psi rules, with the revisions from If Thoughts Could Kill.

Oh yeah, and a metric BOATLOAD of playtest material from Jungles of the Mind.

Ah! You mean you dudes have Asperger's Syndrome! That's cool. Not everyone can be perfect.

The who with the what now?

Oh, and I use Psionics Handbook + Mindscapes. I'm considering replacing the "secondary disciplines" thing with keying the "physical" disciplines to mental stats as well (Psychoportation - Int, Psychometabolism - Wis, Psychokinesis - Cha; since those are the analogues to the physical stats used before).

The question is, will the rules for the "expanded" Psionics Handbook also be "revised"? There's little sense in expanding a system of undesireable rules.
