Which Setting for You?

Where Do You Go?

Went with Eberron; while I have no great love for the setting, it seems like a place where a modern would have the best chance of survival among those listed. Also considered Dragonlance (read enough of those that it'd be a bit of a world-knowledge advantage) and Wilderlands of High Fantasy for completeness / Otherness. Having DM'd Midnight once, I agree that visiting there would be a Bad Plan... it was a good campaign, though.

i voted for Dragonlance because i originally understood it was a poll on "favorite" setting. Dragonlance was the world i DMed... so I kinda love it...

However if there is a place i'd rather visit... well that would be none other than the City of Doors...

SIGIL...

Eberron seems like the one place I wouldn't get eaten in. I'd have loved to go to FR or Sigil, but even if I suvived there, the moment the powers that be realised how much I know of those places I'd end up a slave for the first evil overlord that wants to catch me. I mean I am pretty sure I know more about FR than Elminster does.

Picked Al Qadim because of the whole Arabian Adventures feel, and that the setting would be tolerant of visitors from strange places with strange tales. It is also relatively civilized, comfortable, and safe.

But in general, the Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times" applies to all these settings - they are good places to adventure, not good places to live or even visit.
