Which Setting for You?

Where Do You Go?

Eberron, clearly Eberron. Not only due to the enhanced chances of everyday survival for a modern guy in Sharn, but also for the rather good chance to receive treatment for my diabetes.

Planescape for me as well. At the very least, if I somehow manage not to offend someone more deadly than myself (likely everyone) and can remain beneath the notice of the Lady of Pain, I stand a good shot at potentially finding my way home at some point. :)

I'm almost finished A Feast for Crows, so I'd go to Westeros. While there I would plying my knowledge of the series to pose as a seer. I would gain gain renowned by knowing events that happened far and wide across the continent and intimate, private secrets of the major players in the realm.

(Of course I would quickly get in over my head and then lose it in the game of thrones.)

I picked Faerun for only two reasons:

1) It seems like it's the place that would be the easiest area to receive a Cure Disease spell (and thus get rid of my Diabetes!) and

2) With the high number of mages, I'm pretty sure it'd be the easiest place to find a way back home.

I really don't wanna hang out in fantasy land. The real world is much more interesting. :P

I voted Other in deference to this new homebrew campaign setting I've been working on called "The Land of Scantly Clad Stewardesses".

We do NOT want to know if your seat back and tray table are in their full upright position...

Star Trek!

Not only would the free-energy socialism of the future mean I wouldn't starve because I had no useful skills, but *anything* wrong with me would be corrected. And I'd be in space!

Okay...yeah, that's not really fantasy.

In that case, I'd do Shadowrun and hope that 60 years of compound interest outpaces the rampant inflation, and hope I wind up being Awakened or something.

Either a gaslamp fantasy setting (or one in the process of evolving into its pulp dieselpunk equivalent) or a urban fantasy* version of the world.

Why? I want to conveniences of the modern world or a pre-modern world but with the magic and adventure of fantasy.

* None of that magical realism bull-poop! I want to know that magic and the fantastic exists. PERIOD. Not live in a world where it exists but everyone ignores its awesomeness or one where its awesomeness and strangeness is overlooked as I wax reminiscently about the flower that
grew RIGHT NEXT TO A DIMENSIONAL RIFT THAT WAS SPEWING MOLTEN GOLD and
ended up dying when my undead grandpa came back to visit last Dia De Los Muertos and walked within 5 feet of it.
