Which supplementary monster 'manuals' do you prefer

THis is similar to another poll I did a few months ago. I've taken out some of the lesser known one's and added Fiend Folio. And I've made it multiple choice (I hope).

well, i do have MM2, Fiend Folio, Monsters of Faerun, and Tome of Horrors, but i really only like the original MM. i was a bit disappointed with the others.

so i voted "no, i don't have any of the others" since that was the closest to my actual situation.

Cool, I have all the books in this thread! I picked Monsternomicon, GR's Fiend Books and Fiend Folio. Savage Species is a conspicious absence, although it's not really a monster book in the traditional "list o' monsters" sense.

Tome of Horrors

Hi all-
Well I am not suprised by the fact that Tome of Horrors in number one on the list. While I have all the monsterbooks listed, I find that I often use ToH as much as MMI. I have found that CCI & II seem to be lacking in art and as such throws me off. However, more importantly, is the weirdness factor of those two books. Many of those monsters are just too strange to fit into my traditional Greyhawk game.

With that said, however, sometimes weird or exotic creatures can be a nice twist. It was nice to throw a Vaath at the party (BoVD) while traveling on the road. Set it up nicely. Said that they came across a giant reptialian cockroach thing lying on top of what looked to be a former elite force of soliders.

I did mark Legions of Hell.

So far from MoF I've used Abishai, BeholderMages, Chitines, Crawling Claws, Dark, Shadow, and Song Dragons, Firenewts, Dekanter Goblins, Quaggoths, and Yuan-Ti. Plenty of good stuff in there.

I keep meaning to buy more, but I never seem to remember when I go shopping for game books.

Tome of Horrors..best of the bunch I own simply because it gets the most use. That and it's got so many old favourites in there..
