While we're at Monster Names...

Reading some of the dinosaur/behemoth thread, I decided to start my own monster name pet peeve without risk of threadjacking.

It's djinni/djinn and efreeti/efreet, NOT djinn/djinns and efreet/efreets. I understood that when I was a teenager. Today's young folk are just as smart as we grognards were, so why insult their intelligence? When I was young, I got sort of an elitist feeling because I picked up all sorts of info on world cultures and mythologies from playing D&D. People can figure this out and feel better about because they did.

I figured you had elitist feelings when I first read your posts, but it didn't make me feel any better. :D ;)

I do wholeheartedly endorse your idea. Incorporating common spellings, names, rich mythologies as is, as well as history is a win/win for everyone.
