Whizbang! FYI on "Jumping the Shark"

"Jumping the Shark" itself jumped the shark about four years ago. Please let it die. If you've never heard of it before now, and don't even understand what shark was jumped and by whom, be happy, and don't revive it.

W-D, in case you didn't know, there was a very funny show that got cancelled last year called Arrested Development.

In it, Barry Zuckerkorn the family attorney- a real shyster- was played by Henry Winkler.

Late in the series, while the family was trying to find the severed hand of Buster. It had been bitten off by a seal (which had a tracking device), which was in turn eaten by a shark. The shark got captured, and because of the tracking device, the family went to the docks to see if the hand could be salvaged.

And as the shark lay on the pier, Winkler's character Barry Zuckerkorn jumped over it.

Just thought you might want to know Winkler can laugh at himself & his place in TV history.

Although I prefer the concept that "jumped the shark" has jumped the shark.

That made me laugh out loud.

Arrested Development. The funniest show ever aired on television! Evar!

Did you catch the part when the family fired Zuckerkorn (Winkler) and replaced him with Bob Loblaw (Scott Baio)? I cried for days after that one, it was classic. I wish I could remember Loblaw's quote to explain why he was taking over from Zuckerkorn, it was yet another nod to Happy Days.
