Who are the iconic characters from the settings?

Outside of The Lady of Pain, Planescape's iconics probably include the various Factols, Xanxost the Slaad, The Painter, and maybe A'kin the Friendly Fiend.

Or maybe the Marauder as well.

And maybe a few dozen others. So many characters of different flavor running around makes it hard to pick.

Dark Sun: Rikus and Neeva (he's the mul gladiator with the two cahulaks, and she's the human gladiator on the cover of the adventure Freedom).

I think Rikus and Sadira are the Iconics of Dark Sun. She's played quite the role in not just the novels, but there was a short adventure with her in Beyond the Prism Pentad too.

You would have to ask Wayne Reynolds on the Eberron Iconics. The same characters are found on all of his wrap-arround covers.

I especially like the Soul Knife on the Faiths of Eberron and Eyes of the Lich Queen.

I'm pretty sure that they're the same charecters as the sample charecters given in the ECS.

I wouldn't call Elminster, Volo or Drizzt iconics. VIPs maybe.

The Realms do have their own party of iconic characters that appear on book covers all the time. I think Rich Baker talked about them some time ago, if you want to know more about them, the Ask Realms Authors thread over at the wizards boards (more or less the only thread worth anything on those boards) about them.

Also:

Agis of Asticles (human psionicist)
Calum (dwarf sun cleric)
And the Elfling hunter dude…what's his name?

I don't know much about Eberron, but isn't the Lord of Blades a big wig?
Yeah, but a villain ain't much of an Iconic.

If there is ONE character that represents Eberron to a "T", it'd be Pierce, the warforged fighter/scout from Keith Baker's "Dreaming Dark" trilogy.

Cool, but I wouldn't say a villain couldn't be iconic, look at Darth Vader etc.

For that matter...who are the Paizo Iconics? Their current Pathfinder Blog talks about their new Iconics for their OGL products, but what about these guys who've been appearing on Dragon and Dungeon covers for a while now? Will we ever find out more about them before the magazines are gone?

i vote for Grog... Dungeon 4.
