If Miura drew Guts in the PHB (Mr. "I'm compensating for something with my sword") I don't think WOTC can withstand the deluge of grognards unhappy with that image.

Who cares for grognards? They are always unhappy, since the stone age, when everybody advanced to fire and the wheel.
However, Miura can also draw normal armoured people, and monsters, and animals, and more. He is capable for sure.

But, realistically, he won't draw anything for D&D 4th edition. He's still drawing Berserk, after all, and is going to do so for the next 5-6 years, I'm sure.

Edit 2: that's gonna bug me. I know I've seen it in print somewhere, and it was glorious.

I don't think it would be so much of an issue. Besides, at the end of the day, anyone who turns down a new version of the game solely because of the art in it has issues that no-one can solve regardless of how hard they might try, so there's no use in trying to please those people in the first place.

To me, that picture says D&F'nD. I think, looking through the gallery, that his strength lies with landscapes rather than characters though. But for me, much of D&D was about the mythic vistas for the characters to explore. He should be on the starting lineup, definitely.

Michael Kormack. Scenic pieces like his The Caves of Chaos should absolutely have a place in D&D books.

I hope the "Races and Classes" book cover (on Amazon) isn't indicative of 4E art.

I know it's a little off-topic, but can anyone recommend (with a link) a good picture of a knight in heavy armor on a warhorse (preferably barded). I'm sculpting a Britonnian Lord for my Warhammer army and could use a little inspiration.
