I am going to Las Vegas next month. I would like to know if anyone has been to Star Trek: The Experience and if they would give me the down low about it.

Without giving too much away, I thought it was ok. It is a bit cheesy but it was ling of neat standing on a replica of the Enterprise-D bridge. The production quality itself is pretty well done, but the "story-line" is quite cheesy.

The displays of original props were very cool, and personally, the best part of the whole "experience". They had some great models of the ships used in all the series. That was about three years ago so I assume more has been added.

I can't remember how much it was to get in. It took about an hour or so to view everything (I think...memory is a bit foggy about that).

The shuttle ride was an absolute blast (don't forget to look up). I'd say that alone makes the experience worthwhile. There can be a substantial wait though so consider yourself warned.

I've been through it. To be honest, I thought the motion simulator shuttle ride, while cool, was a bit nauseating. The prop displayers were nifty, though, and the rest of the show was pretty cool.

The neatest thing was the transporter pad. One minute you're in the transporter room, then the lights go black and you're blasted in the face with cold air. Then the lights come back on about a second later and you're on the bridge of the Enterprise. It's damn cool.

Right after you go on the ride, do this:

Go to Quark's bar.
Order the warp core breach.
Drink a lot of it.

I promise that if you follow these instructions, you will feel the ride was one of the best rides ever - regardless of how much you enjoyed it at the time.

[Edit - Oh, once you have had your fill, go walk over to the gift store and punch your fist into the display of Tribbles and watch the chain reaction of tribble madness - man is that funny while under the influence...]

All good suggestions...they have two sizes of Warp Core Breach order the smaller one...the bigger one is for two or more.

The Experience itself used to be the museum and the ride for one price now you have a choice of ride and museum or just ride or just museum. The ride is a blast.

There are two shops there one is the Admiral Shop the other is a regular shop. The Admiral Shop is right across from the Bar and has props for sale.

I was happy this time that quarks had Romulan Ale and it was pretty good when I was there. All the food is pretty good there too. Your a Trek Fan you will like it. Remember most of the props in the Museum Case are Replicas not originals ....HMS and the Paramount/Viacom Prop shops made them for the museum. The Next Gen Props are all off the sets according to some collector friends. All of them are really cool to see up close.

I was there in Oct '01, I thought it was great fun. I do want to go back and see any updates they might have added due to "Enterprise" and the last movie. I thought the shuttle ride was cool. Next time I'll have to eat there too.

That's quitter talk. I knocked back the large myself, and thoroughly enjoyed life. I seem to recall singing show tunes while walking through the casino.

Oh, and if you take the tour, make sure you push a button on a console. The guides' reactions are hysterical.
