Who has used Elements of Magic Revised?

That sounds great Ryan. My problem with the system was that it wasn't immediately adaptable. I had to spend considerable brain power to understand the concept, although i did appreciate the amazing flexibility. A supplement that does some of that groundwork would be immensely useful. How long you looking at until release of L.A.?

LA should be out mid-december. In the case, that you have some problems or questions beyound the scope of this thread (could happen later), then feel free to look into the EN Publishing forum, Ryan mentioned above. ;)

To tell the truth, I think the only bit I'm likely to consider actually using from EoM is the elemental side effects (and the expanded elemental types) since lack of coherent side effects is the biggest little failing in standard D&D magic to my mind.

Cheers

In the revision, two elements have been renamed (Mud => Ooze, Biomatter => Nature) and two have been added (Space and Time) for closing open loops regarding Teleportation and Telekinesis (etc.). With the creation of the General spell list those new two elements made it it possible to reduce the number of spell list action types to only eleven, so they are necessary for the functioning of the rules set. Furthermore, there is no division between black and white elements - the elements have been grouped into five categories, which don't have a influence on the damage dice. And although all elements are still placed on the elemental sphere (or within it or beyound of it), the rules of friendly and opposing elements are a bit more complicated than "neighbours and on the other side of the sphere" (you have to look up a table).

And even if you don't want to ditch the core magic rules now - maybe you reconsider your position after the reading. ;)
