Who Needs The New Dragon Format

Who needs it? I think I do. I think it's much better than previously.

Instead of just labelling things as crap - that's not helpful at all - can you please give examples of what you liked in previous issues, compared to now?

I like the new format too. It is easier for me to find things and see if I would use them. Most of the DM Toolbox has been moved to Dungeon. You might want to check that one out. In the Familiars section there are a lot of cool tools and tips for players and the articles are actually quite good for a general audience.

I think Dragon is still the same. Not good enough for me to buy on a regular basis.

Dungeon on the other hand is much better.

Peace and smiles :)

I like the new format quite a bit. It has a very clean, unified look to it, and it is extremely easy on the eyes. I'm lucky enough to still have very good vision, but it never hurts to have text and formatting that is much more flowing, than being graphically gorged on every article.

As for content, again, I like the new headspace. I like having a low, mid, and high level adventure in each Dungeon, and I like a lot of the peripherals and (please don't start flaming) I like the fact that polyhedron doesn't take up half the publication anymore.

Dragon is a bit more robust, and while I don't use every article or have any interest in which cons are upcoming, there are likely a lot of people who *do* have an interest in gaming news who find use of this (Not everyone is online, so their only news might come from Dragon).

I have a few qualms and tiny nit-picks, but none of them are heart wrenching enough to warrant an attack or rant here.

I really enjoy the new Dragon format. The new standard article are almost universally useful to me. Ecology, Spellcraft, Gaining Prestige, Magic Shop, Heroic Feats, Winning Races, Class Acts, Player Tips, and Adventurer Tricks cover darn near every important topic in the game, and do it well, I think. And those are just the regular features! Toss in interesting feature articles, and it's a definite winner.

Not yet. You can have a new magazine format, but if the magazine don't have any impressive articles (plural), it's pretty much the same ole thing.

Well, one of the issues I liked very much was issue #301, which had the article "Malignant Growth: The Ecology of the Troll". The section of the article on how to deal with them was an interesting read. That issue even came with a fireball spell template for even more troll-burning goodness!

As someone who has been reading Dungeon for awhile and only occassionally picks up Dragon, I am not sure what the 'crap' is supposed to be. Though, I liek what I have been seeing in Dragon.

Red Viper can you tell us what you liked before and what you don't like now?
