Who Uses Music in their Game?

In one game, no music.

In the game I run, yes. Here is the playlist:
Midnight Syndicate D&D Soundtrack
Conan the Barbarian
Fellowship of the Ring
Holst: The Planets
Sountracks from Warcraft 1 and 2

I game in a big room with other games going on, usually, so having music isn't practical. Sadly. I'd use it if I could set up the perfect room, though.

I used to, but they just don't write that many good trombone pieces to play at the table.
 Hah! I can imagine trying to play any one of my instruments at the gaming table. It'd be hard to follow the game and play an instrument, though.

actually we had a guy who was good at the acoustic guitar and he played a Bard that also played that instrument. So, when he used the bard music he would actually play and sing, making up lyrics that reflected what was going on in the battle and sort of making fun (in a good way) of what was going on. We didn't get much done, but it was a lot of fun.

Man, you've been in _much_ cooler games than I have.

I use music quite a bit when I DM; most of the players think it adds more than it detracts from the game. I even use sound effects through a computer program I use (rpgsoundmixer) and that adds a lot of atmosphere as well IMO.

On a side note, this topic seems to pop up every so often, and when it does, everyone makes a great list of the albums/CDs they use. Of course, I always forget to compile the list, so if future posters could add in the music they use, I'll make sure to compile this time ;)

CD's I DM with:

Gladiator soundtrack
Conan soundtrack
LOTR soundtracks
Icewind Dale soundtrack
Bram Stoker's Dracula soundtrack
Midnight Syndicate CDs
Toxic Bags' CD compilations (mostly their Monsters and Fantasy CDs)
13th Warrior soundtrack

Well, this was back in the days of true gaming. When all the gang was single, had a job, but no much else going on. We'd game friday, everyone would sleep over, get up hit the grocer's, grill food, game more, spend the night again and eat leftovers and game. Sigh, those were the good old days......
