Who will be the new lead designer?

Bruce could work, i don't know if he has the experience though. out of everyone on the team he's probably the guy i'm the biggest fan of.

i think a new face could be useful, someone who hasn't been with WotC before. 5e might run the risk of being Ctrl+v: The Game without someone around to bring in some innovation.

There's no part of that I don't like.

How about it, mousferatu?

:D

I haven't been invited, but Mike has my e-mail and my phone number. I'm pretty sure I could find time around the novel-writing to work on D&DN, if asked. ;)

(To tell you the truth, though, when it comes to mechanics, I'm better at extrapolating/altering/building than creating. By which I mean, if I'm being completely honest with myself, I'd probably do better on the early supplements than on the actual core design work. But that's mechanical; if they want someone to help design the flavor/story/setting, that's an entirely different story.)

Most likely Mike Mearls. He seems to have been the number two guy, his name is known, and he talks well at cons.

I don't believe so, Mike Mearls is senior manager of the Dungeons & Dragons research and design team and team leader of the 5th Edition version of the game. Which made Mike Mearls, Monte's boss if I understand things correctly.

My hope would be to rehire Skip Williams.

You would be correct. Mearls is the boss-man.
