Who will win the World Series?

Indians over the Rockies in 6.
Red Sox are good this year, but won't last against the Indians, they're hungry.
Diamondbacks are good, but the Rockies had their number during the regular season and have looked better since the season started to close...

The only variable in the mix is the Colorado weather and altitude, no team in the American League plays at temperatures that low (usually) or at an altitude that high. That may take it to 7, but who knows.

I could care less but if you don't root for the Red Sox where I live, rabid fans will nail your feet to a train and duct tape your ears together.

So I'll go with the Sox.

I'm hoping for the home town Red Sox, but I think the Indians are going to be tough to beat.

As for calling it the World Series, they have their token Canadian team, plus they have players from Japan, Cuba, Venezuela, Dominican Republic etc. Its an international effort. Much better than american football teams who claim to be "World Champions."

Well, yes, *today* that's true. They've been playing the World Series for over 100 years, and for the first four-plus decades of that, the players were pretty much entirely white Americans.

And, there used to be *two* token Canadian teams, but only one's left.

See, that doesn't bother me so much, because the Super Bowl champion is the champion of a sport called "American football"...and the NFL is the only major professional league of that particular sport (even Canadian football is a significantly different game).

The fact that foreign players play doesn't make it any more a 'World Series'. They're still American teams (besides Toronto).

If we made a championship between the Japanese League champion (whose teams also have foreign players) and the MLB champion, that might deserve the 'World Title' label, though I think the Koreans might also want to have their say.

That said, NFL teams calling themselves 'World Champs' is utterly ridiculous.

Not to entirely devote my post to derailing this topic, my Cardinals are still the reigning champions. That's about all I know.
