Supose your are a race of little gray space aliens with a fondness for probing.

You take your spaceship above this little world full of all sorts of new creatures.

Big, flying lizards, little hairy men, thin, poity-eared men, Huge, ugly men. Half-horse/half man things.

Given the extreme diversity of intelligent life in your average fantasy world.....

If you were a alien whom partakes of the ancient alien sport of 'Abduct & Probe', which intelligent creature/race/class would you 'Abduct & Probe" first in order to win the coveted title of 'Master Prober'? Which Probe Model would you use? Would you use the Micro-Stellar Mindwipe XP software on them afterwards?

For example. If you abducted some, say, wizard in a grey robe & pointed hat who always smokes a pipe; you'd propably need to utilize a Alpha Centauri Scientific Probemaster 3000b (TM), with the Arcane Detection Spikes option.

Whereas a simple goblin might only require a Radonshack Probalot (TM) series 800.

So you're an alien come to a new planet full of probable options. What would you probe first?

Not sure about the question and use but my answer: I would first observe and then probe the The dominant life form, then their food, and then the food's food.

Now you may ask what makes a life form dominant? As a alien, numbers. This has caused problems in the past, we did not know cows were a food supply, this has been adjusted.
