Who's actually a fan of D20M's nonlethal damage system?

Just curious to know if anyone feels they have enjoyed success with the all-or-nothing nonlethal damage system D20M uses. I know it's the first thing a lot of folks are compelled to house-rule away. Personally, I don't mind the all-or-nothng aspect, but rather the simple logistical problem with adding up enough damage to even have a chance of forcing the Fortitude save. Even investing two feats to get Improved Brawl, a character with an 18 Str will still have to beat the odds to force a character with a 10 Con to make a save. You'd still have to layer more feats on, like Streetfighting and Power Attack.

So, before I decide to ditch it for D&D-style nonlethal damage, does anyone care to advocate the D20M nonlethal system?

If focused on it, it lets a PC quitely and nonlethally take down an enemy above second level with a single blow instead of wailing away at him for several rounds.

With one simple house rule (exceed MDT OR current hit points) I find the rules work wonderfully.

1st-2nd level normals and heavily wounded people can now be taken out by that uppercut.

Cheers

Most of the fights in my last game were with guns, melee weapons, and later on psi-blades. I did use one NPC that focused on nonlethal fighting and he worked out well.

I blended the two, and like it.

I.E. NLD accrues, but also if you can get enough through to force an MDT, then you're golden.

Seems to keep everybody happy. The brawler can sucker-punch people out in a single blow, the others can wail for a while.

Yep, that's how I do it, too.
