That's more like it! :)

Unfortunately, in exchange for Darmanicus degrading himself by performing like a monkey for you, you're now required to speak in the manner of a vacant Californian schoolgirl - you know, the type that appears in so many movies and TV shows. :)

Since this thread is full of you guys, I have a question for UKers.

I was driving last night and an unusual thought came into my head, "What accect to English (or Ukers) RPGers use in their role-playing games." This because USers often use English accents in thier rpg games.

It may a bit a foolish question, but it struck me as odd, so there ya go.

Scholars and courtiers tend to talk very carefully (and slightly effete) RP. Peasants have a rural, vaguely West Country, accent (although I can slip into Rural Oxfordhsire which is more subtle). Dodgy city folk tend to talk Cockerney. Dwarves tend towards Yorkshire rather than the traditional semi-Scottish (mainly because I can maintain the accent for longer). I also like to throw in utterly unexpected regional accents that have no relevance to the people using them but serve to differentiate them (having Northern Barbarian tribes speaking with an Australian accent, for instance).

I've found that Shadowrun, in particular, sounds ridiculous if you use the setting slang in and English accent!

Mid thirties living in Rochdale (Manchesterish for all those southerners..), Im a househusband which got a lot easier this year when the kids started school. Been playing for more years than i care to think about, currently killing off players in Temple of Elemental Evil, if i have any left we plan to do City of the Spider Queen afterwards..

Apart from that I drink a lot, watch too much sport (so t'other half would have it) and spend too much time lurking on these boards when i should be cleaning the house.

Hampshire again

Farnborough, Hampshire gamer (Rp and computer) here.

Playing D&D at the moment but have and will try almost anything. I have a wife and 2 kids and work for a company that makes software for hotels.

I thought the American stereotype always sounded more like some Texas cowboy. ;)

35, living in North Wales, professional RPG designer. We play some kind of RPG a couple of times a month -- planning on upping that to once a week, but bringing in a few other games like Settlers of Catan etc. Mostly we play either Conan (GMed by Adrian Bott, who edited the Atlantean Edition), or Slaine (GMed by me), but we've also played D&D, Risus, SLA Industries, The Dying Earth, and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay -- and will doubtless do so again at some point.

I've been playing tabletop RPGs for 23 years now, the first one being Gamma World. I've also been playing LRP games for around 22 years, and am running a brand new one next month (see sig).

I'm 24, also in st neots in Cambridgeshire… and run Eberron on wednesdays in the local game shop.

I'll add my name to the growing ranks of Cambridgeshire gamers - I'm 36 and live in Cambourne, which is a dismal little place halfway between Cambridge and St. Neots. I am originally from Durham but have spent most of my life living in Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. The UK is quite a culture shock after all these years ;). I am a full-time house-husband and play bass in a band called Ratzinasack (come and see us this Friday at the Haymakers in Cambridge!)
(Likuidice, I take it you are referring to The Gamers shop? Great little place - best second hand selection I've seen in years.)

Myself and three other lads from the area have just started getting some games going - Dark Sun, Call of Cthulhu and whatever else takes our fancy. We all have family and home commitments so play on weeknights (Tuesday seems to be the current fave). If any of you Cambridgeshire gamers feel like joining us, please do. We could use an extra player or two. My email is in my profile.
