Who's from the UK?

You know how I got Joe to speak better Hindi? (i.e. retroflexive rather than dental pronounacation or d's and t's and no stress on any syllable)

I told him to imitate Apu from the Simpsons....

It worked like a charm.

True. Being able to DM with accents (especially for an extended period) is probably one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do. My NPCs change their heritage so quickly that even the best RPers in our group can't keep up. They always, though, end up sounding like Apu from the Simpsons.

I need my +12 Squishy of Intestinal Smiting. :D

Cambridge - haven't been there many years, but as a child Games & Puzzles was the shop that got me started on this RPG addiction. Great place, sad to hear it apparently died years ago. :(

Is that different to the Puzzle Shop? There are two stores in Cambridge that sell D&D stuff, one in Rose Crescent next to McDonalds, and the other in Green street I believe. Both were still there last time I checked.

Games & Puzzles was the shop in Green Street but it closed about 2 years ago. I've been into the Puzzle Shop on a couple occasions but I've never seen any D&D (or any RPG for that matter) material in there.

The Puzzle Shop has got a single shelf with a few D&D books. They also sell the odd pack of miniatures.

Is Games & Puzzles different to the shop that's now in Green Street, because I was in Cambridge a few montsh back and there was definitely a shed-load of RPG stuff in a store in Green street. There was a change of owner a year or two back, but as far as I know from being there a few months back, it's still there, selling the same old stuff. It's the shop with all the CCG boxes in the storefront? You're going to force me to go and look on Saturday! :)

I'm not going crazy, am I?

Exeter gamer.

I'm 26 and a web developer for a local ISP. Play RPGs, CCGs and Boardgames. Looking forward to the 2nd ed of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Started with Games Workshop, stuff, got into rolemaster, then took up D&D as it didn't get as bogged down.

Read alot of scifi and fantasy (Gemmell, Hobb & Martin are faves), own my own house and have 2 lodgers to pay for it. Theres a cool gaming shop [Clifton Road Games] 50 yds from my house, with a large gaming area. :)

Other main pastime is a dance called modern jive. A stark contrast to gaming, but that's a good thing.

So close, but so far. I live in devon, seaton (30minutes away, but no way to get there), and I have done so for 4-5 years. I am though born and bred in Bristol. I hope top follow a carrer in science but I'm interested in art and drama.

i'm a 24 year old Gentleman of Leisure (read: worthless bum) born, raised and residing in Reading, Berkshire (a place which until my recent visit to Maidenhead i believed to be one of the crappest places in the multiverse) with delusions of intellect..

Games wise i went the HeroQuest/Space Crusade - Warhammer - D&D route, and still dabble in Warhammer occassionally, along with Legend of the 5 Rings (CCG), and every now and then attempt to play D&D (my initial attempts really sucked, so it takes alot of coaxing to get my friends to play these days)

Wey yer aal bairns man!

Dave, 47 in June (and the second youngest in our group), Blaydon, Northern England (as in the "Races", in fact I can the remember the "Chain Bridge").

We started with D&D in '78 and went on through Traveller and Runequest into everything from Warhammer and Earthdawn to Feng Shui and Cthulhu.

At present I intermittently play Harn and intermittently run Pendragon and Savage Worlds. However my gaming has taken off again with my two sons of 11 and 9 years, previously playing D&D3e, d20 Star Wars, Exalted, MSH, and Wushu; and currently I'm gearing up to run Castles and Crusades with them. It's great fun and very different from the jaded, cynical bunch we've become! :D

For many years...

I'll be quite pleased if someone has managed to reopen the place. Thats good news, otherwise Cambridge didn't have a games shop. I just hope its not the same guys who let it crash and burn a little while ago.
