Who's going to be at Gen Con?

I will also be attending GCIndy in 2004. Hopefully as a Shadowrun GM again like last year.

This year was my first GenCon and now I'm horribly addicted. :)

Hmm. I'm probably looking at $800-$1200 for the flight. Darned international flights... And I don't know how I feel about bunking with some people I don't really know. No offense to anyone, but as much as I've lurked, I haven't really gotten to know anyone on a personal level. So I'm guessing around $2k for me should cover it. I'll give it a shot, but no promises. Although it would be really cool to hang out with you guys/gals.

I was in the same situation this year, didn't know anybody, and I still don't have a real presense on the boards. But I had a great time, due in a large part to the ENWorld people I did meet.

If you can make it happen, you should try it at least once.

IMO save 1000$ per person for august.

Plane tickets can cost from 200-400 round trip.

the hotel room, close to the convention center is gonna cost 700 or more total (if you room with 4 people that droops to under 200 each).

Then the 60 entry fee.

Then expenses for 4 days and all the stuff you want to buy.
Plus the cost of event tickets for all the official events. Not too much, but at $3 a pop, it's easy to rack up $25+ in event tickets.

I'll be there at Indy again next summer, as I only live an hour and half northwest. Even though it is a short drive, I'm thinking about staying downtown thursday and friday night, just for some pickup games.

Oddly enough, I could never make it to GenCon while it was in Wisconsin, but I'm considering heading up there for the Milwaukee Gamefest next summer as well. And Origins in Columbus, OH, too.

It's kinda nice being close to these Cons. Can't believe I haven't been to more over the years.

Hey - got room for an old pal ;) and his cloned twin? :D

I'll be going for the first time. I'm thinking of doing some RPGA DMing to pay my way through, but I'd need to hear from a voice of experience before I make that decision. While I am on their second tier for GMs, I've never run a convention game.

I may be going (the timing is very bad for me this year, I start student teaching in the fall, right around GenCon time), and if I do, I hope to see you all there! :D
