Spoiler block for those who haven't played it.
[sblock]They finally made it to the Slaadi level (level one of the dungeon basically). They walked in and saw the Talon Fiends fighting the Blue Slaads. The cleric threw up a Blade Barrier and the wizard threw up a yellow veil, so they didn't need to worry about them.
However, what ended up happening was that the rogue and invisible paladin went south and opened doors. In the end, they ended up fighting 2 Abyssal Behirs, 4 Gray Slaads, 6 Blue Slaads, 2 half-fiend Hill Giants, and 1 Death Slaad, who ended up using the retributive strike ability of his staff of power.
It was tough as hell to run but a lot of fun. I had the party scared to death, especially when the Gray Slaads each used their Power Word Stun abilities to disable the spellcasters. Their at will ability to fire Lighting Bolts came in handy too.
In the end, the cleric was at -6 and the big beefy fighter died. The wizard got to go up a level, so he took Limited Wish as his 7th level spell to be able to reincarnate the fighter since they a) can't figure out how to get out of the woods (teleport and plane shift have already failed) and b) the cleric
can cast Raise Dead but they don't have the components.
The player suggested reincarnation. So he rolled. He was a big, beefy warforged with the Adamantine Body feat with a huge, adamantine tower shield and a broad bladed shortsword. Now, he's a female halfling.
Everyone is having a great time playing it.[/sblock]
