Who's still playing City of Heroes?

Just curious. Work, life in general, and other new games have kept me from putting much time in on it. I want to see if it's a MMRPG that's going to have real longevity or more of a flash in the pan to be pushed aside by other games. I've been trying a bit of EQII for example but so far it's not likely to push COH out of my personal favorite position.

World of Warcraft has killed, cremated, and then scattered the ashes of my desire to play City of Heroes. I liked City of Heroes, but compared to World of Warcraft it becomes a flawed gaming experience.

The multiple gameplay options that WoW offers: quests, crafting, PvP, equipment for your character--these make it impossible for me to go back to City of Heroes, a game that only has the first of the above. (You may argue that in CoH you equip your character with enhancements...this is dreadfully boring compared to an actual equipment system.)

I will say that flying is still cooler than my Paladin's warhorse though. A lot cooler.

I've been struggling with CoH recently. I stepped away from it for a month, and now I have no real desire to play again. I hop back on, and it feels like the same ol', same ol'. I wish it weren't the case, as I have a friend that I don't see much just starting up play. I'm seriously considering the World of Warcraft kick, if the software can be acquired given the current shortage.

Same here ... frustrated at how long to level up and the debt I got into ..... came back
a couple months later and it wasn't the same.

I still play CoH at least a few times a week, on those nights when I don't feel like playing WoW. :)

Now, I'm really loving WoW, but it hasn't killed my appetite for CoH for a couple reasons. For one, it seems to me that the player base in CoH is a lot friendlier... of course, maybe that's just been my experience.

Plus, after my mage gets trounced by a bear in WoW, it feels good to log on to CoH as my tanker and hop into the center of a mob of 20 sky raiders and clean house. I feel mighty when I play CoH. I don't get that with WoW.

Seri and I have taken a bit of a break from CoH because of the holidays. Simply too much going on to think about playing CoH right now.

We'll probably be back to playing next month.

Doc Liberty still keeps the streets of Paragon City safe on the Justice server!

.... he does it for about 20 minutes at a time, but he does it ...

The Canuck can be found on Victory server, dispensing justice (politely) to those who need it. I've looked as WoW and other games briefly, but they still just seem to be rehashes of older MMOs, while CoH actually has a widely different theme, as well as a very solid focus (lets do combat, and do it very well).

Still playing. In fact, if it wasn't for an impromptu D&D session tomorrow, hubby and I would be closing in on level 32 on my scrapper/his controller. Priorities, priorities :D
