Tony DiTerlizzi. If he hadn't done any work for 3e, I'd have chosen differently, but the planetouched pictures were great.

And Holy Bovine, if you check out any of the 2nd ed. Planescape material, you're likely to see his work. All of the PS Monstrous Compendiums, the Factol's Manifesto, all sorts of good stuff.

Now he's mostly doing his own products, children's material, Magic Cards, etc. You can check out some work on his site:

I use to really enjoy Larry Elmore's and Keith Parkinson's work. However, more recently, Todd Lockwood's paintings are what catches my fancy most.

DiTerlizzi rules. The Planescape Monstrous Compendium I was the best illustrated RPG material I have ever seen. By the way I don't know why the picture of Fzoul Chembryl in the FRCS is so good, imo he looks like he is just performing some funky ballet move... hardly epic...

Lockwood, WAR, and Sam Wood are, to me, the best. In the end, I voted for Lockwood, mainly for his Dragon pictures, his pictures of Drizzt (The Thousand Orcs rawks :D ), and his Manshoon picture, among others.

Oh and the Hellfire Wyrm from MMII
