Favorite mythological creature

Big fan of the peryton. Glad it's been getting a little more show in minis and adventures.
The Book of Imaginary Beings is pretty fantastic.

I know it's basic, but I've always been fond of Heracles' hydra. Also ghosts. Basically anything that requires research and/or cleverness to overcome.
Wearing the Lion by John Wiswell has a fantastic take on the Hydra. He’s basically an immortal beast who becomes more stupid and violent the more heads he has. So when Heracles encounters him, after having run into a few unwise (and now dead) monster hunters, he’s very stupid and violent. After Heracles burns him down to one head, he’s lucid and regretful, and quite helpful to our hero in his quest.

(Pretty much all the monsters are cool and different. Heracles doesn’t kill the Nemean Lion but scratches it and bonds with it - thanks to its invulnerable hide, Heracles is the only one strong enough to give it head scritches it can feel - and then carries it to Eurystheus to show he’s defeated the lion. This explains Eurystheus’ canon response of hiding under his throne when this happens, since the lion is very much alive and possibly dangerous to anyone who isn’t Heracles.)
