Why am I not getting 'Lost'?

I assume it is just personal taste. I don't watch any program every week so Lost was never an option for me. My wife loves it and I catch an occasional episode, but it has never done anything for me.

When it first came on I did not watch or care to watch it and only got into it from the repeats that had early on Saturdays, I now love the show. What got me was the flash backs, you saw where the characters were but not how they got there, you had a picture with missing pieces that interlocked to form the story.

You mentioned the polar bear but they tie was the comic book, the comic book came from Hugo. What does the bear mean, nothing really it did not have anything to do with the comic but you wondered, it was showing the island was not safe, and strange in the extreme, it was unexpected and farfetched but only at this time. Will it be answered, I think so.

TV characters are normally not too defined, only having a couple of traits, LOST characters are no different, this allows open ended devolpment and changes to personalities. Yes, LOST is a soap opera.

You are entitled to like what you like and dislike what you don't without having to justify yourself to anyone, Allanon.

Most of my friends have been hooked on 'Lost' and have tried to persuade me to come over to their side. I don't dislike the program, but I just don't want to become tied to watching it every week. Anyway, the first season will be out on dvd soon.

Tarrasque did make a good point though, that the so-called "documentaries" on Discovery and other channels are often just as unrealistic as fiction programs. :D

I'm sorry you don't like it, but to each their own (or whatever cheesy cliche you want). I never got into X Files (I was more baffled by that than anyone) or Twin Peaks and I love LOST. Just chalk it up to you don't realy like it and look for something else to watch or read or play.

I am enjoying Lost - but (as others have alluded to), it can only string me along so much.

If they continue to do so without giving me 'straight' answers, I'll dump it just like I dumped X-Files.

I can see how people don't like it. Personally I love the show but if they don't start revealing some stuff I will probably stop watching. Its fun getting trying to figure out whats going on but if you don't get any payoff after a while it just gets tedious and I will stop caring.

The fear I have is also the staying power of LOST, J.J. ABRAMS (spell check) other shows have weaked (my feelings) during second seasons, Felicity and Alias, but that could be network sticking their fingers into the show.

Dude, you should have spoilered that.

Dang, I should have inviso texted... ;)

I'm a fan of 'Lost' but then again I tend to support any genre show that's even halfway decent, jumping ship when I feel it starts to suck (do you hear me 'Andromeda'?) I've been pleased with 'Lost' so far although the absolute lack of even vague hint of answers is getting old. Otherwise I'm quite enjoying it. :)
