Why are Dwarves so Cool -- and what are the Best Dwarven Resources?

Seconding (thirding? fourthing?) the motion for Heroes of High Favor: Dwarves. It's great. And cheap.

I prefer the term inexpensive. ;)

I appreciate all the nods for Dwarves-- and yes, it is a great little book packed with useful stuff-- but it has sold out through our warehouse, and may be tough to find at this point unless you happen to spot it at retail.

for the older D&D materials you can get them as $5 pdfs at www.rpgnow.com

Demi human deities (2e FR) has a lot of good stuff on the dwarven pantheon.

As said before there is the complete book of dwarves (2e) and Dwarven Deep (1e FR).

3e/d20 there is:
Hammer and Helm (Green Ronin)
Heroes of High Favor Dwarves (Bad Axe Games)
Quintessential Dwarf (Mongoose)
Burok Torn (Sword Sorcery Studios) a dwarven city book specifically for the Scarred Lands setting.

There are also minor bits on dwarves or dwarven variants in many campaign settings and other supplements.

for which you can read reviews in the review section.

Dwarves are cool because...

They make fun Rogues.

The Dwarf Rogue is your typical Locks'n'Traps guy who's tough (+2 CON)
to kill and uses real (size medium) weapons.

The +2 on saving throws vs. spells really boosts Evasion too. I give my
DM nightmares by singing "You... can't touch this!" every time I evade.
I evaded 3 lightning bolts in a row in one combat.

And the look on people's faces when they realize I have a high-dex dwarf...
in light armor... who tumbles well... priceless!

Now there's a thing I never heard of before and won't be able to find -- but I really want :\

Frickin' Dwarves...

Once upon a time, Mayfair Games had a series called Role-Aids, which included a book on Dwarves, to include a large mountain city.

Finding it may be rough, though.

And now I know why my Amazon order for HOHF: Dwarves has been on hold since January. At least I got free shipping credit for it on the rest of the order.
