Why Are Warrior Women Never Ugly?

Well, it's the DnD movie, though. It's so bad I don't want to see it, though I doubt the shapeliness of the female star (or lack thereof) has anything to do with the movie's quality.

It's not so bad, really. Certainly not one of the best movies ever made, but it's entertaining and much, much better than the silly first one.

The original poster has a point though. Trolling through the artists pages I can find any number of male pics that certainly win no points in the beauty department. Sure, they might be pretty buff, but, they are certainly no prize winners. Yet, when one of my players decided that her latest PC was a not particularly attractive woman priestess, it took a huge amount of hunting before I found a pic that she thought fit the bill. (As an aside, the pic came from EN World's very own galleries - kudos)

It would be nice to find some pics of female fantasy characters once in a while that didn't just walk out of a soft-porn mag. I can find a bazillion hot elf chicks, but, try to find a plain one and you're SOL. It would be nice if the artists could give us a bit of selection once in a while.

NPCs from the Forge of Fury. One could argue that the most charming NPC in this line up is the dwarf... :)

That's funny. Most believe the American Liv Tyler did not live up to her species role.
I would have chosen the women from the two D&D movies. The black chick from the first one was beautiful.

I think Liv looked great. Better than Cate.

Well, since this is turning into a very interesting thread on perceptions of beauty vs. practicality of adventuring, let me give you all an exclusive first look at a piece of artwork from the forthcoming Castlemorn book showing the elves of that world. Not exactly your chick in chainmail but still riveting.

That's what we are talking about here ;)
Right. What does "not very clean" mean here? The details of her face, her upper torso, the arms and the leaves in the foreground are very clear. Additionally, we see three spell effects: those flames dancing around her head, the whirlwind carrying her, and a transformation plus effect on her right arm. But you are right, spells don't have anything to do with a book called "Eldritch Sorcery" ;).

If you don't like it, that's fine. De gustibus non est disputandum. I just think your criticism of the details is somewhat beside the point :).

To be honest, I thought she was more 'fiendish' then in the middle of casting a spell. None of the 'spells' as you put it are being put into play as opposed to being in play. If she was casting a spell at a balrong, or had both arms outstretched with magic flowing between them as opposed to having that 'effect' on her right arm which makes me think she's fiendish...escpecially since it appears taht she has no legs but that's not clear either as it could just be that there's some bad foreshadowing going on with her robe.

This doesn't count that I think her skin tone is too close to the background color to really stand out, hence my take of "not clear".
