Why Are Warrior Women Never Ugly?

She has horns?

;)

*checks again* Yes, she does. I find them menancing.

Perhaps if she wasn't about to kill me or eat me (her stance indicates this), it may be erotic in a twisted sort-of-way.

Artwork by Bruce Colero

I normally don't like "camera style art" on RPG, but I may make an exception. I love the closeups of the thigh. The chest is not bad either ;)

I'm learning more about myself in this thread than I thought possible.

So when it comes to female warriors, having images in your gaming books like these:

is much more favorable than having an image like this?
YES!

As was stated by others before, I would stay far away from any rpg book that had an image like the blue horny girl you posted earlier on the cover. Because I would assume it was aimed at an immature, juvenile audience. Doesn't matter how good the contents is - I wouldn't even get to checking it out in the first place.

On the other hand, if your business plan is to target a less mature audience, I'm sure you will do very well...

In the right situation, a rogue clown would be perfect. ;)

Heh, only if you've got a cohort named Harley, and a penchant for leaving playing cards at the scene of your crimes. :p

Anyway, in the interest of giving positive feedback, I can say that in the two-elves-in-the-woods pic, I do like the ferny ground cover a lot, and the upper half of the forward arm on the archer (whom I thought was just a buffer female, but is apparently male, heh). That upper arm's good. Shows outline but also gives the impression of some thickness from the leather.

@Ghostwind:
As a female gamer, while I prefer the fact that the two upper images show female characters fully clothed, I don't really prefer them over the weird half-naked "red nun". None of them do much to inspire me. They just look like they're there to look pretty. I'd rather see an image of a character I could imagine playing, or meeting as a NPC. I have to agree with JoeGKushner that the slickness takes away from the images somehow.

Let me guess... the one with the katana is a sorceror?

That would explain all the buckles. And the fact that she doesn't seem to know how to hold a sword... :p

Thanks, I now have my next character concept!

....or, since I'm a DM, the next reoccuring villain..... :]

*Thinks about that for a moment*

*glances down to KM's sig concerning FF0*

Might I suggest a Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster type instead, perchance?

Just avoid any names that start with 'K' and you're set.

Me, I think the movies are overrated . . .

. . . they didn't throw out enough of the books. ;)
Oh, right. Like I want to sit three hours listening to the Council of Elrond. My damn seat better have a toilet underneath. Pbbbt! :p
