Why can't you idiots design polls properly?

My polls are perfect

This concept (yes, I realize it’s humor) is why I try to always make polls with a range between 0 and 10 -- 11 options, including a dead center item. I identify the two extremes and the exact middle, and leave the ranges between open to each poster’s own interpretation.

So, most of my polls actually do list your specific situation – at 3 or 7.

Why give people the option to vote in the first place? It's not like their views actually matter. All polls should have the option to "fill in results" when they are created to reflect the outcome that the Original Poster is actually after, rather than what is randomly generated by a load of strange people from all over the globe who don't actually bother reading what the poll is about (aside from the often mis-leading title).
