Why is it that so many people seem bent on defending WotC against every imagined insult? You can't find a thread on the board anymore where someone questions WotC product without an angry defender jumping in to call the guy an idiot for being "negative." Don't we, as consumers, have a right to disagree with design direction??? To question what the company is trying to sell us???

Most of them aren't imagined. People often insult game developers and designers, belittle their work, then try to hide behind the shield of "criticism."

You can't find a thread on a discussion forum without running into people of opposing view points? Imagine that.

Don't we, as consumers, have a right to disagree with design direction???

And don't we, as consumers, have a right to disagree with your opinion and express that? Why do we have to be silent because you want to vent on some design decision you don't like, don't understand, or blow out of context?

Why is it that people posting on message boards get so upset that people may dare to have opinions that differ from theirs?

Both sides of the issue have posters that act in ways that they would never consider in face to face interactions.

If you post in a public discussion forum, you have to expect that your opinions/assertions/whetevers are going to be questioned by some, maybe many. That's what a discussion forum is for: discussion.

It's true that some responders are more angry than they should be, but this is true of both "sides". It's not just pro-4E people.
