Why do I game?

It's fun and I get to hang out with friends doing something that's fun (see point one), creative and enjoyable. And drink beer at the same time.

Plus, as a starting actor, being a roleplayer is also good acting practice!

I've had one or two people ask me why I gamed. I told them "Because I enjoy it". f course, what they meant to ask was, "Why do you enjoy it?"

I can't answer that very easily, any more than I expect they could explain to me why they enjoy consuming beer. I also can't answer why I enjoy sketching, painting, writing, philosophy, math, etc. I just do.

As for explaining what it is: It's an oral tradition in which stories are created. The method by which the stories are created is different from books, plays and campfire ghost stories, but that's still basically what it is.

I have been gaming now for almost 13 years, I started at school. I continue to play (not enough though) because I find it relaxing just to lose myself in the game.
