Why do you play D&D?

Because its part of the rites of the demonic cult which has seduced me into a life of occultism and Dark Dungeonesques fantasies - oops no thats my other vice

um I play DnD from my intesrest in Anthropology and Myth in particular. And as DM use games a simulations of cultural phenomena:)

I DM because of my desire to control worlds and wont to destroy the lives of worthless mortals MWAHAHAHAHA

Yes it is fun too

(PS your Soc paper might be even more interesting if you look at the Premise that All DMs a Megalomaniacs with a god-complex:))

I enjoy creating and exploring fictional worlds and the people that live in them. I enjoy getting into their heads and seeing the world from their point of view.

I tend to prefer DMing if that isn't obvious from the above.

I like the excapism, the fact that it's a good excuse to get to gether with my friends every week. I like creating characters and playing them. Plus it's fun.

These days i do prefure to play over DMing. I just don't have the time and energy to include the level of detail that i would want in an adventure or campaign world.

Why I play D&D

D&D is my creative outlet- or one of them (I also draw, create music, write, sculpt/paint miniatures and terrain). It's definitely the MAIN one, and I spend a lot of time on developing my campaign so that I can amaze and entertain my 6 players every week.

I maintain my website because it allows me to share my creativity with others.. and hopefully inspire other people to express their creativity too! It's a very focused sort of artistic expression, and I pursue it like an artist.

An arrTISTE, I say!
