D&D 5E Why do you use Floating ASI's (other than power gaming)? [+]

Except now the fighter isn't going to get any of them is my point. And the fighter is the class that needs fun things to do outside of inserting numbers into bags of HP.

The magic and fantasy goes back to the caster classes and the martials once more get a poke in the eye.

Another point in favor for Level Up, where martials get all sorts of interesting maneuvers to choose from.

Really, though. Do you honestly think I’m gonna lose this bet? You think they’re going to…what, replace all races with “custom lineage 2.0”? Make the races purely a flavor element? Like…they’re not going to dramatically change the PHB races. They’ll have floating ASIs and some tweaks for balance and satisfaction, at most.

No, I don't really think elves are going to lose the traits they have, but I also dont think it's enough. This is why I switched to Level Up. They did a much better job with heritages than D&D did (or is going to do) with races.
