Why does forgery go off of Int ?

Been consolidating and adjusting some skills for a few houserules for a new Ptolus game(yay i'm gonna use my $$ book!) and was kind of confused by Forgery. I'm not really sure why this skill goes off of Int, can anyone shed some light ? Or are the Skill<->Stat matchups not totallly making much sense anyway and just go with it ?

Knowledge and practice is more important than manual dexterity.

Attention to detail also counts.

And don't forget that forgery is opposed by itself. It obviously doesn't take manual dexterity to examine a document.
