Why Enworld?

- Basically because its a more mature board than most, and well moderated. A lot of sites could seriously learn from the "Eric's Grandma rule"

- Its a lot less clique-y. Or at least, the cliqueyness is more subtle.

- Intelligent debate for the most part.

- Good way to keep up to speed on what's coming down the pipe.

Well, I came for the news on 3.0, and stayed because I like the crowd. Although I may have to reconsider that -- apparently there is ales and whores here, and no one ever told me. How long do I have to be here and how many posts before someone tells me the secret password to get into the back room?

Also, the access to publishers is very nice. There are a lot of people here who've been gaming as long as I, so the sense of shared experiences makes me feel like old friends with people I've never met. It's very polite and well-mannered, and the mods do a great job. And Ceramic DM has been a extra special treat.

Because it is the largest and most important D20 site on the internet.

The sense of community here is great - I can post to Gary Gygax and he'll answer me - and the same can be said for virtually any other member of the industry. I know - as I've done it often.

How cool is that? Quite simply, this is the place to be.

I enjoy my hobby and have for nearly thirty years. Not surprisingly, thousands of others feel the same way and have been enjoying it for about as long as I have.

Funny enough - they come here to post about the same things that I do.

RPG.net has a higher noise to signal ratio, is less friendly and more snooty when it comes to game discussion. Perhaps because of the swearing, it just generally feels a lot less friendly a place. The WotC boards are a disaster for the most part.

I enjoy industry gossip, campaign updates, rule discussions, product dicussions, story hours, polls on which employee of Paizo to eat first, whether Battlestar Galactica was good or bad this week and - of course - I like showing off the Coolest Gaming Set-up. Evar. and grin broadly every time I see a new post by someone else who has taken the plunge into tabletop projection, etc..

It is, quite simply, the best place to be on the internet if you like D&D.

I started coming here when 3e first came out. I had been away from D&D for nearly 2 decades at that point, but still a very dedicated gamer. I had heard that 3e was a huge improvement, and that proved to be true.

The community here, however, is simply a joy to be around. There are so many varied interests and ideas and approaches to almost every topic that you are sure to find something of interest here! Even if you are not playing D&D (as I no longer am), there are threads that will challange your gaming style, ones that make you think, ones that make you laugh out loud!

Though no longer in the D&D set, I still try to make ENWorld part of my nearly daily routine.

I'm here for the sense of community, of being amongst people who share many of the same interests I do.

I enjoy reading people opinions on different matters, and keepin up with the industry gossip (I would never have known "World's Largest City" was actually out if I didn't frequent ENWorld.)

Interestingly, the "rules" sections of the site are the areas I frequent least.

It's a good place to come to get information on upcoming products. I learned about Malhavoc , Green Ronin and Goodman Games from this place so it's not all bad. Occaisonally, someone will post something that will ignite a creative spark in me.
