Why I love Eberron

I like the fact that there are no real-world cultures or mythologies plunked in there.

I like the philosophy of making the PCs stand out, and I like the way that philosophy is implemented.

It feels...like the most purely D&D setting, if that makes sense.

Oh, I can see the campaign, with lycanthropy rules being bent a bit (after all, Hellcow said the Silver Flame managed to not only slay lots of lycanthropes, but also to eliminate the strongest strains of lycanthropy, explaining why afflicted lycanthropes cannot pass the curse of lycanthropy anymore, as the rules say), in order to make that a lycanthrope campaign that would feel like a zombie movie. :]
 

Oddly enough, I've been playing the other angle of the lycanthrope purge; my shifter character is distrustful of organized religion because of it.
