Why is the Book of Exalted Deeds a product for mature audiences ?

Is this label really necessary considering that it would be a book on the good guys ?

Or is this just a marketing ploy ?

Anyway, what do you think could possibly be controversial in a book about good guys ? Let's have your ideas on this thread.

Regards

If this is true I'll wager the mature advisory is both a marketing ploy and a statement that the content covers moral and religious material discussed in full adult language--using a very academic and intellectual vocabulary on subtle and profound philosophical concepts that would be beyond the understanding of your average 14-year old gamer... That's my guess--I can't think of anything controversial. Then again my brain is very tired from reading a gazillion posts here tonight! LOL

The simple answer is, different people will have different ideas of what is "good". The book will tell you what is considered "good" in a D&D game. You need to be mature enough to realise that D&D morality is not the same as real world morality.

I guess it's because the material covers religious or moral points which may be controversial or differ from the commonly accepted ones. Killing orc babies, that sort of stuff.
