Creating a golem is essentially similar to creating any sort of magic item.
Note the absense of the word "other" in this quote as "Creating a golem is essentially similar to creating any other sort of magic item." Which would mean that a golem is a type of magic item. Without that simple word, it instead means: Golems are made like magic items are made but aren't magic items.
The characteristics of a golem that come from its nature as a magic item (caster level, prerequisite feats and spells, market price, cost to create) are given in summary form at the end of each golem’s description.
This sentence states what parts of a golem are like a magic item (caster level, prerequisite feats and spells, market price, cost to create). It does not state that a golem is a magic item. It has the "nature" of a magic item because the same stats are used to describe its construction process; but it doesn't say it is a magic item.
Making the spell, Dispel Magic, work to disjoin all golems would up its power level and severely weaken any type of construct. An Iron Golem's cost of 80,000 gp and 5,600 xp and 150 days work could be squashed by one successful Greater Dispel Magic from far enough away (300 ft.) to have never activated the golem.
Nevertheless, Antimagic suppresses magic items but does not disjoin golems or stop them. Dispel Magic targeted against a magic item, if successful, suppresses the magic of the item for 1d4 rounds. If antimagic cannot suppress a golem other than its Su and Sp abilities; why should Dispel magic suppress a golem into individual parts?
The caster level for golems is usless. The creators added it because magic items had it. The formula for Construction details was copied without reason.
The caster level on magic items has two uses: To determine the saving throw of the magic item (2 + 1/2 caster level); and for the DC for Dispel Magic to suppress its magic. Golems have their own saves set by the Construct type and so do not need caster level for that purpose. Antimagic cannot suppress a golem's normal functions (Na or Ex); so Dispel Magic (a lower level spell) should not be able to suppress them either and the other use for caster level is gone.
