As I mentioned in another thread, it really comes down to what everyone else is playing. Very few people will abstain from gaming simply because they want to play one system exclusively.

Well this is what I saw in our gaming group at the change over of 3.0-3.5. I see very similiar trends in people on the forum.

Also if history repeats itself then we'll see similiar trends that we saw (and we are seeing these trends) with the 3.5 change over. People griped, moaned, and complained. In the end most had bought into 3.5. Some were right away, some weren't. Even up to 2 years later I saw comments on the forums like "so we switched to 3.5". It'll be the same with 4e.
