If you get a chance, check out the special Star Trek "The Weakest Link" when it reruns on the Gameshow Network. He comes off as a total jerk, and is made a fool of.
Head him speak at a con once, and honestly he came off as a pompous jerk then too. Didn't have a problem with him until then. I can forgive Shatner cause, well he's Captain Kirk for gods sake. But Wesley Crusher isn't a big enough name for me to ignore his behavior. ;)
He states in his book that he did that on the show to make an impression and to try to get to Ann the host. I very much enjoyed his latest book and thought that it was very interesting. As for him being "a jerk" during ST:TNG he was a teenager. Cut him some slack. Please, we were not all perfect at that age.....

I met and hung out with him at Linucon, my other half beat him heads up at poker and then we went to dinner. He is extremely nice and funny. He was really nice to all the fans too. I have seen plenty of celebrity types snub the fans. We also saw him again two weeks later at Dallas Comicon where he did a live reading from him book. Stopped and said hi, again really nice. Even had my Wil sign his copy of the Dawnforge book. :)
I can't wait to see this episode of CSI. I hope someone one this board keeps us up to date when there is an airing a date, and of course which CSI it will be. :)

If you go to wilwheaton.net I am sure he will have that info as soon as it is solid. Those Dallas Comicons are nice and Ben puts on a good show. I was a guest down there in 2003 in the fall and had a great time. It helps on expenses when your wife's family lives in Wylie..... will be down in August..

I saw Shatner at the Devon Horse show and he was showing his horse. He won the ribbon, he was very good. From what I heard if you talk to him about horses he is likely to respond than if you try to talk about Trek.

It sorta reminds me of what he did in "Free Enterprise" (moreso in the deleted scenes on the DVD), where he doesn't want to be reminded of Kirk because he's not him. He was actually good, and the director commentary really said a lot as well.

I'm right there with you AuldGrump. I've always said that I would be willing to pay cash to see Captain Kirk vs (Adam West) Batman in a fist fight. These two characters seem evenly matched; both are the leading characters in their own sixties era campy sci-fi TV shows, both are played by middle-aged out of shape ham actors, both dress up in colourful outfits, but most importantly: NEITHER HAS EVER LOST A FIST FIGHT!

I don't care if it's CGIed, animated or live action; I think it would be hilarious.
Kirk could have the old Star Trek battle music playing "DA DA DAA DAA DA DA DA DA DA DA" and Bats could have his big colorful ZAP! BAM! CRASH! KAPOW! graphics flashing on screen. Kirk could do the double-fisted-punch™ and Bats could retaliate with his swing-flying-kick™. It's be great! Who wouldn't want to see that?!? :D

And just for fun, they could have five generic thugs (Thug 1, Thug 2, ect.) from the Batman show battling five red shirts in a battle-royal. That'd be equally entertaining since none of those combatants has ever WON a fist fight in their respective shows. It'd be fun to see if ANY of them would make it to the end alive.

If that doesn't pan out, well there's always celebrity boxing.

From wilwheaton.net:

My episode of CSI, titled "Compulsion," will air on CBS on March 10th.

Hooray for uncle Willy! Can't wait to see him on TV again. :D

If this works out, maybe they'll give him his own series: CSI:Wesley ;)

Sounds like a great project for jibjab.com ;)
