I have two separate campaigns usinging hybrid D&D and Boot Hill rules set on an alternative earth in 1882. Both campagins began in the Cochice County Arizona town of Promise City, which is the town from the TSR's Boot Hill module "BH3: Ballots and Bullets". These stories are partially based in history with a smattering of characters from various 1960's and 1970's television westerns also making cameo appearances (Caine from Kung-Fu is on his way to the town now).
My weekly gaming group created gunslinger and indian characters for their campaign who call themselves Arcade's Gang. They played out three modules in the area in 1881, killing Billy the Kid in the second module and the third being their versioin of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in nearby Tombstone. The campaign then shifted in a different direction when a player decided to DM a module that brought the group of cowboys and indians over to Europe for a Cthulhu-esque storyline. That was followed by three other modules set in England, Scotland, France and Ireland. They concluded a few months back with their ship docking back in the United State in Galveston, Texas during the second week of March, 1882.

My other group is set on the same campaign world but with different players and characters. Rather than gunslingers this group has opted for gamblers and saloon girls as their characters. It began as two table games and then evolved into an extremely popular Play-by-post game. We got together again on New Year's for another table game and am now wrapping it up again as play-by-post. It is set almost entirely in Promise City. The module was named "Revenge, Renewal and the Promise of a New Year" and had a theme of redemption and renewal for most of the characters. Their game began on January 1, 1882 and the initial module will be winding down soon with around three to four weeks of character time having passed. The next module will pick up a month or so later

Arcade's Gang plans to head back to Promise City, Arizona from Texas while the other group will remain in the Promise City area. One historically based subplot running through both campaigns has involved the Cowboy Gang, a group of cattle rustlers that included the Clantons, Billy Claibourne, Johnny Ringo, Pony Deal and Curly Bill Brocius. Historically, during the week of March 17-23, 1882 Morgan Earp had been shot and killed by members of the Cowboy Gang and lawman Wyatt Earp then went on the warpath and killed most of the gang. I'm not sure just how to work that into one or both storylines.
So I'm open to some plot ideas for both groups for each of their next module. Please post some suggestions.
