Fundamentally, it just sounds like another aspect of CBOE syndrome which seems to pervade all of races of the wild.

IOW "Well, we had a nifty idea, so we made it elven".

Not alone. You have my sword. It seems strange to me that elves who pride themselves on grace and beauty would enjoy watching their faces mutate into gruesome viscious jaws. Plus I never heard an elf sing anything that would be considered loud or screaming. Would a Dervish-ish ability work? to take advantage of the elves grace to enhance their speed and the momentem of their swing. Plus fey are often depicted as beautiful dancing maidens. You could even make it like an enchanting dance to use cha. But it all depends on balancing issues.
