D&D 4E Will errata ever be incorporated in 4E books?

I just picked up the PHB2, and I happened to get the 4th printing of it. However, even after 4 printings, they have not incorporated errata into the text.

Does anyone have a reason for this? Thanks.

eh, i'd imagine it costs money to 'reset' the formatting etc (if things take extra space or less space with the errata, it would shift things around on the page and so on).

*if* errata does get incorporated, I wouldn't be surprised if the rules compendium coming out later this year is when it first appears. but as far as i know, it hasn't even been suggested that this might be the case, so i am speaking completely on a what-if scenario.

I have no idea, but this is what has kept me out of D&D 4e so far. I do somewhat miss the pre-Internet days when players only became aware of errors through actual play (if they ever became aware of them at all). Ignorance is bliss and all that.

I heard the PHB in the PHB/PHB2 combo packs and the latest errata in them at that time, but I have not confirmed it.

Well, this is kind of like people who never get around to buy a personal computer because PCs are evolving all the time and prices drop all the time. There is never exactly the right point to get one. It always seems better to wait a tiny bit longer...

The problem is: You don't have a PC all this time. Sometimes it's better not to worry and simply get the damn thing.

More like: this is kind of like people who never get around to manually installing windows updates and wait for the service pack. Of course, if updates are automatic (like in the char builder) they don't mind...

Which isn't that unreasonable. I'm not waiting for it, but it would sure be easier to work with errata if newer printings included them. Problem is, newer printings aren't free (unlike service packs) and while I wouldn't mind replacing a book or two, I don't want to replace every book I have anyhow.

Still ongoing. In fact there is an update coming out next month for the PHB. When new books come out sometimes the new options interact with the old rules in way that were not foreseeable and they need to be updated.
