Will Google Wave Play a Part in Your Game?

It looks like it naturally supports the kind of interactions that go on in gaming. I'm sure someone will quickly write a dice roller, monster/spell db access apps, etc once it's released. (Heck, one of the developers or testers has probably already done this! ;) )

You guys sure that when using something like Google Wave it won't be seen as competitive software/website with DDI and you'll asked to C&D? ;)

**ducks back behind barricade**

Honestly for myself, I don't think G-Wave or any software is gonna do anything for my gaming. So far I can't get any of my gaming gang to use/visit a very simple wiki-set up. But not that I can blame them, I'm of the opinion that table-top RPGs should be all analog so I don't bring or encourage tech at the table (ok, maybe an mp3 player for background/soundtrack music).

RPTools - Home is the correct link. There's a wave with a bunch of MT people exploring possibilities of using Wave and how Wave & MT might be friendly. The first invites I had went to my players, we're already using it. Trying to get our heads around it mostly, but I'm enjoying it.

Managed to get onto this new fangled wave thing.

Any public RPG related waves worth keeping an eye on?

here is a dice rolling robot you can add to your waves: tuxaios@appspot.com

i think that until you have built up a good number contacts, there is not a whole lot that you can do yet, unless you are a developer. i am in wave, but still don't have any invites to give out.

i think wave has unlimited potential, but at the moment, people aren't missing out on anything. when everyone you know is using wave, then it will be revolutionary. but i think google is being smart. keep the number of users very limited, and add as much functionality as you can, while letting the buzz build because the majority of people can't get in. by the time it opens up to the masses, there will hopefully be enough developers to really make it worthwhile.

of course the whole thing could flop. but i really think it will be a good platform for gamers who happen to be developers to create all kinds of functionality to make online gaming a reality. a free reality.

No one but the owner of the phone number can see their number.

And Google.
Thats one reason why Wave will not replace email. Everything goes through Google and thus is a huge security risk and will be used for data mining.

Private users might not care, but companies will.
