D&D 4E Will the 4E books be "square" like Star Wars Saga?

Wonder if anyone at WotC has been asked this, or if it has been confirmed/denied yet?

While I can't say for 100% sure, the artwork/mock-ups we've seen for the cover of the three core books certainly look like "normal" RPG books, not square.

Someone DID ask it, and the reply was no, they won't be square.

Now if only I can remember where I read it...

I'm pretty sure I saw WotC saying somewhere straight out that they wouldn't be square. I don't remember where, though.

I wouldn't mind it; it's a smaller footprint book and that's always good. If it were left to me, I'd make them digest-sized.

No, it's not. Same thickness; shorter in height, yes, but wider in width. It takes up just as much space overall, doesn't match any other book on the shelf/in the pile, and (IMO) is harder to read.

If the book were actually smaller, and still contained the same amount of material, I might agree with you. As it is, I pray they never even glance at a SWSE-shaped book again.
