Will the miniatures come with large-scale combat rules?

Evening all! I think I remember reading somewhere that wotc was going to release mass combat rules with the miniatures? Am I remembering this correctly? It would be a godsend, because one of my players intends to max out his Charisma and Leadership capabilities with some prestige class goodness to raise an army. I'm hoping for some wotc in this endeavor.

I hope so. Most of the critters in my undersea game have large scales.

Flashback to 1984. I got an A- on my Computer Class project, for ignoring the standard list of suggested programs and instead writing WAR - an AppleSoft BASIC program that used 1e AD&D rules to create 2 armies of 200,000 each, which then battled to the death.

If I remember correctly, the Miniatures Handbook will contain the mass combat rules.

According to the add in the newest Dragon Mag there will be rules for "head-tohead skirmishing, squad-based combat, and mass battles", so that sounds like what you want. Also, Monte Cook is releasing Cry Havoc at Gen Con. It's being written by Skip Williams and will have rules for mass combat.
