D&D 4E Will the Tarrasque be in 4E MM?

Definitely not. I ran a game like that with nWoD when I saw the first trailer. It formed the starting point of my current nWoD campaign.

Sounds cool! :D

Now how to do this without my players killing me when they realize what I'm up to.

Ever since I saw Cloverfield I've been itching to run a game where the PCs start at 1st level and are trapped in a city being attacked by a Tarrasque :)
Cloverfield gave me an idea for an RPG where every single game is a one-shot, set in the same night on the same city. I mean, over a million people live in Manhattan. You could run a practically unlimited number of games without them ever interfering with each other. Or maybe you could have some sort of over-arching game where the 'main' PCs are part of a later military investigation, trying to learn about the monster and prevent/defend against another attack. Each time they found a document (a camcorder, a collection of posts to MySpace or videos uploaded wirelessly to YouTube, an interview with a surviving witness), they could play the characters involved in that 'story' and gather more information.

I'll be doing it with my Buffy game in a couple of months.

(Well, it'll be Shub-Niggurath . . . but the premise is essentially the same)

If it becomes a cool good Big T - yes. And against flyers: Give it the ability to freaking throw people. And make it spell reflecting.

If every spell can hit the caster, you need melee guys. And the Big T will then throw'em at the ranged warriors - which cannot pierce its shell.

Forcing people to climb into Big T's mouth, the only place without shell and where it cannot grab and fling you easily.

Cheers, LT.

RigaMortus- while I didn't want to see like what looked like a crappy movie anyway, some may not appreciate such a spoilerish statement.

The characters in Cloverfield start off at 1st level!?!

I'm willing to bet that the Tarrasqque will be nerfed this time around. Instead of having to wish it dead when it drops, you'll have to hack it to pieces, burn the carcass while 20 wizards recite an ancient ritual that would teliport it's body back to the 9 hells before it revives.

I think that I would rather see those MM pages used on a more useful monster, but the Tarrasque would make for a good Dungeon/D&DI article.

QFT. The Tarrasque can be in some other book, for my money. No doubt the "LOLTARRASQUE!" factor will ensure that it's in the first 4E MM, though.
